Modern Day Wexford:
Wexford streetscape is narrow and winding and is a direct legacy of the Vikings.
Today these same street are renowned for their
excellent shops, boutiques, craft shops, restaurants, bars and nightlife venues.
Wexford Town is probably most famous for its Opera Festival with its many side shows and art exhibitions. In 2008 the new world class and state of the art Wexford Opera House opened its doors.
A seed sowed in 1951 by four locals with a passion for opera was the start of this Great Festival.
